This is a great blog written by a former reporter for the AP that left his job and went to Iraq with money donated by supporters who wanted a reporter to go to Iraq and cover what is really going on there. He raised over $15,000 and has been reporting since 2002 and has a large number of readers each day. He has now begun reporting in several other areas of the world.
It is a good example of fighting hegemony in mainstream media and getting real news we can rely on.
