Celebrities and Activist Media

After the presentation today that focused on celebrities becoming involved in radical media, I got to thinking about other examples.  The classic Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt example are two celebrities that have become involved in world affairs and quite frankly I believe that they are doing these things just to enhance their "image".  

Is the Will I Am music video about Obama just another example of how celebrities are butting into world affairs?  I feel like all these celebrities who are participating in this music video are making Obama part of "pop culture" which greatly effects who votes for him.  Does this video make Obama appeal more to young people?  Is it right of these celebrities to be voicing their opinions on youtube about the future of our next president?  

I think that these celebrities are forcing people to vote a certain way because they may be fans of that particular celebrity.  Should we vote for a certain candidate just because our favorite celebrity does?  Probably not.  Below is a link to a youtube video that shows many of the celebrity supporters of Obama.
